Young Hollywood

Young Hollywood is a store in the Starplaza that specialises in designer clothes worn by various young celebrities, as well as fashion collections. The stock is limited, much like LE, Antidote, Runway and Strike a Pose, and sells very quickly due to its small selection (typically 10 or less outfits per release). There have been a total of 38 collections since its initial release.

Royalty members, Superstars and regular users are all eligible to purchase these items, but each of them require a hefty amount of Stardollars. The store first launched in June 2011, followed by the second collection September of that year. The most recent collection, released in May 2018, featured outfits from the Royal Wedding.

COLLECTIONS

The 1st collection was released on the 11th of June, 2011, and kicked off the official launch of Young Hollywood, representing the outfits worn by young actors, actresses, singers and other young celebrities. This was a very large release, as most of the newer releases have been quite small and feature much less than they used to.

The 2nd collection was released on September 19th, 2011. Due to its release so close to the first collection, it has been considered one of the worst collections ever, with very uninspired designs and rushed concepts.

The 3rd collection was released on September 14th, 2012 - almost an entire year since the second collection. It was a big improvement and many of the items sold out extremely quickly. The collection featured the outfits of many young actors who attended the Grammys of that year.

The 4th, 5th and 6th collections were very small, and only featured approximately 2 outfits at a time. In May 2013, the outfits of Blake Lively and Madonna were featured, wearing Gucci and Givenchy respectively. On August 20th of the same year, Lady Gaga's outfit from the Applause music video was released, featuring 5 different clothing items worn by the famous singer. The sixth 'collection' was released on October 3rd 2013, and did not feature outfits worn by young stars. Instead, these were everyday outfits that differed from the typical fancy style of the other collections. Only three outfits were released.

  • Madonna and Blake Lively were featured in the fourth collection
  • Lady Gaga's outfit was the star of collection five
  • The sixth collection featured casual clothing

Taking a break from the small collections, the 7th collection was much larger and was released on the 28th of October, 2013 (just days after the sixth collection had sold out). This was a Halloween inspired collection, and featured outfits worn by various celebrities at a multitude of Halloween parties.

The 8th collection went straight back to short and sweet, with the release of three new outfits on the 12th of November, 2013. Each outfit was inspired by Sao Paulo Fashion Week 2014,  and was modeled by Gisele Bundchen and Isabel Goulart.

The 9th collection of Young Hollywood was inspired by the Golden Globe Awards and was released on January 14th, 2014. Each outfit was inspired by Elie Saab Spring 2014 (worn by Taissa Farmiga), Prabal Gurung Spring 2014 (worn by Zoe Saldana), and Christian Dior Fall 2013 Couture, worn by Jennifer Lawrence.

The 10th collection of Young Hollywood was inspired by the Oscars Red Carpet and was released on the 3rd of March, 2014. It was another mini collection, only featuring 3 new outfits. The outfits were inspired by Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace, Lupita Nyong'o in Prada and Michael B. Jordan in Givenchy.

The 11th collection was inspired by the Met Gala and was released on the 6th of May, 2014. This was another mini collection, and featured 3 new outfits. The outfits were inspired by Givenchy worn by Naomi Campbell, Zac Posen worn by Liu Wen and a Thierry Mugler dress worn by Georgia May Jagger.

The 12th collection was a complete floor of pieces, which was the first time the collection had expanded since its Halloween collection in October 2013. This collection was released on the 22nd of August, 2014, and featured many different designers and celebrities. The Fausto Pugsili dress worn by Kendall Jenner and the Adam Selman dress worn by Rihanna are the two most famous and popular pieces from this collection, and they are currently the rarest.

The 13th collection went back to becoming a smaller collection, with only three outfits released on January 12th, 2015. The outfits were inspired by Altuzarra Spring 2015 (worn by Rihanna), Chanel Spring 2013 (worn by Chloe Moretz) and Balmain worn by Alessandra Ambrosio.  The Balmain dress was accidentally released as a Level 127 item, which made it near impossible for most dolls to buy. This was quickly resolved once the issue was found.

The 14th collection of Young Hollywood was inspired by the Grammys and was released on the 10th of February 2015. Four outfits were on display, including Taylor Swift in an Elie Saab dress and Giuseppe Zanotti shoes, Kim Kardashian in a Jean Paul Gaultier dress, Rihanna in a Giambattista Valli Haute Couture dress and Madonna in a Givenchy outfit.

The 15th collection was released on the 26th of March 2015 and is the smallest collection to date, with only 3 different pieces available. The items were a hairstyle inspired by Kim Kardashian, and two necklaces (one inspired by Balmain and another by Lanvin). Both of these items were worn by Kim Kardashian during a pre-Grammy celebration. On the next day, March 27th, Stardoll released four new outfits inspired by Givency and Dries Van Noten (worn by Kanye West) and Balmain, worn by Kim Kardashian.

The 16th collection of Young Hollywood was inspired by various celebrities at the Met Gala, and was released on May 5th 2015. The outfits were inspired by Givenchy (worn by Beyonce), Guo Pei worn by Rihanna (including a headpiece), and Roberto Cavali worn by Kim Kardashian.

The 17th collection was known as Celeb Weekend, and featured a new celebrity each day, from Friday the 19th of June 2015 through to Sunday on the 21st. The first celebrity to be featured was Gigi Hadid, and featured pieces worn by the model. The second day of Celeb Weekend featured Kendall Jenner, and included two outfits inspired by her. On the last day, Taylor Swift was featured wearing a school girl outfit and holding a cat and purse (which sold out incredibly quickly).

The collection was named Callie's Secrets, in reference to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show that ran the night of the announcement.  When the collection was released, many of the clothing items were unable to be purchased due to an error on Stardolls behalf. Not long after its release, the storefront was taken down and re-released a few hours later, featuring Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner's outfits from their debut on the Victoria's Secret stage.

The 20th collection was released on November 20th, 2015, and was also inspired by Red Carpet outfits (similar to collection eighteen). Prices ranged between 32 Stardollars and 200 Stardollars, and the Riri Top was the first item to completely sell out.
